Accuracy and accountability

Editorial policy

The standards behind our public explanations and future educational content.

Halal Scanner aims to make difficult ingredient questions easier to understand without presenting uncertain information as settled fact. This policy applies to public website copy, guides, and educational material.

Source standards

We prefer primary and authoritative sources, including current product labels, manufacturers, recognized halal certifiers, public regulators, and original scholarly material. Sources should be linked when a reader needs them to verify a claim.

Claims we avoid

We do not publish fabricated reviews, ratings, download counts, health benefits, or guarantees. We distinguish religious guidance from medical, allergy, and legal advice. Ambiguous ingredient origins remain ambiguous until reliable evidence resolves them.

Review and updates

Content should be checked for factual support, plain language, and clear limitations before publication. Time-sensitive claims should include a review date. We do not currently claim that every page is reviewed by a named scholar or certifier.

Corrections

If you find an error, email Halal Scanner Support with the page, the statement in question, and any supporting source. Material corrections will be made as soon as they can be verified.
